Kidney Reflux On Both Sides. I would like to know what this is and what the treatment is for it. My daughter has duplex kidney on both sides and possibly reflux in the bladder.
Vesicoureteral reflux vur occurs when urine flows back to the kidneys from the bladder rather than from the bladder and out of the body through the ureter tubes. Hydronephrosis is swelling of one or both kidneys. When an infection or disease affects both kidneys a person may experience pain on both sides.
Another indication of vesicoureteral reflux which may be detected before birth by sonogram is swelling of the kidneys or the urine collecting structures of one or both kidneys hydronephrosis in the fetus caused by the backup of urine into the kidneys.
When an infection or disease affects both kidneys a person may experience pain on both sides. This can occur from a blockage in the tubes that drain urine from the kidneys ureters or from an anatomical defect that doesn t allow urine to drain properly. The management of reflux into duplex kidneys ectopic ureters and ureteroceles will then be discussed. Pain in your sides or middle to upper back could be coming from your kidneys.
